There must be something about the northern air in the UK; again and again talented bands with robust sound and big ambitions seem to hit our ears. The Virginmarys are certainly amongst this talented crew of northerners. Their rock is passionate and hard-hitting. Lead vocalist Ally Dickaty has a voice that is raw yet incredibly pleasing.
The Virginmarys are certainly a band to watch, and their self-financed EPs have already earned them the accolade of Best Breakthrough act at the 2013 Classic Rock Awards. The band has a sound that works just as well in an intimate setting as it does in a large arena. Given the amount that the guys are touring, fans like me know that it’s only a matter of time before The Virginmarys are offered more opportunities to play in bigger, more prestigious spaces.
A Virginmarys show references the many pioneers of classic rock that came before them. The band plays under a giant, glowing V and have an intense lighting show reminiscent of the glamour of 80s rock. The focus at a Virginmarys show, though, is the sound. Opening songs “Push The Pedal and Drive” and “Just A Ride” are energetic, sure-fire ways to get everybody pumped due to the big drum lines, gnarly guitar riffs and huge vocals. The band ended with “Bang Bang Bang” at their recent show and all I can say is that it took a lot of effort not to fist pump my way through it. Go see them and experience hard rock at its best.

In January i heard the virginmarys for the first time when they supported rival sons in Liverpool, from the start i was loving it, (even said to mi mate "these are f#@kin alright " so half way through their set Ally mentioned they had a uk tour coming up so i got my phone out and Google them and found they were playing the key club in leeds, by the end of their set i new i had to see them play again. The following week i order the tickets and had to order both albums as they were sold out wherever i went. Since getting them iv not been able to listen to anything else, completely captured by the music.the virginmarys are an excellent band to see live, if you like it loud and lively, full of energy and passion then go and see them if you can, if you dont, go anyway you wont be disappointed. I knew i was in for a good night and certainly wasn't let down. Raw english rock music at its best. That wont be the last time i see them.... Thank you the virginmarys for bringing something new to my ears, LONG LIVE THE VIRGINMARYS!!

As always with the VIRGINMARYS you know your in for an energetic performance and this one (Halifax) was no exception, in my opinion the VMS are by far the best band around right now and have been for some time (a cut above the rest) so I can't stress enough to those who haven't heard them yet, get a listen, if you haven't got their albums, get them and if you haven't seen them play live, get to a gig, you won't be disappointed......Thank you Ally, Danny, Les for yet another AWESOME gig..... LONG LIVE THE VIRGINMARYS.

Awesome gig as usual from these guys I've seen them four times on.this tour so far.Every time you see this band they NEVER DISAPPOINT or give less than 100 per cent if you love decent music live do yourself a massive favor and go to one of the gigs on this tour or go and see them at one of the festivals they're playing this year

Saw them in Stockholm a couple of years back and one of the best concerts I have been too. The man is 71 and saw Cream back in the 60s. With that I want 2 write I have been 2 a hell of concerts during the years. Virgin Marys is one of the best, honest and having a great time playing.
Next time England I hope 2 see you 2 guys again.

Listened to them for a few years now and took time out to see them in Manchester very original energetic real passion at times too pretty heavy and wild at times great atmosphere anybody with a passion for rock music will love these guys You feel like you been to a gig see them while you can in the smaller venues you won't be disappointed you'll be blown away !

This band are fuckin awesome.Best band out there never give less thsn 110% every time ive seen them 14 times so far just fuckin amazin Ally and Danny and Ross just brilliant do yorself a favor and get a ticket for any of there gigs i fuckin guarantee you wont be dissappointed #VMS

The Virginmarys are an AWESOME band, iv been to see them quite a few times and your guaranteed an excellent night, all I can say is if you've not got any albums, buy them and if you can see them live, do it, you won't be disappointed.
