Having formed in 2004 Saving Abel was originally a duo of Jared Weeks and Jason Null, the band began working on material and recordings whilst establishing a solid line up in the early days. An early song entitled 'Addicted' gained attention from Virgin Records and after watching the band perform they were offered a deal to record and release their debut album. Addicted would go on to be their highest charting US Single, peaking at #20. Their self titled release was a chart success, breaking the top 50 of the US Billboard and peaking within the top 10 of the Rock & Indie charts. On the back of this release the band were offered the opportunity to tour with Canadian rock band Nickelback at huge outdoor venues gaining them exposure and experience.
Their second album 'Miss America' was also released through Virgin Records and debuted at #24 on the Billboard chart whilst topping the US Rock chart. It featured two top ten singles on the US Rock chart 'The Sex Is Good' and 'Stupid Girl (Only In Hollywood)'. The third album 'Bringing Down The Giant' failed to match the chart placings of the first records without the support of Virgin. On December 26, 2013 both lead singer Jared Weeks and drummer Michael McManus announced their departure from the band through social media outlets. Saving Abel has continued since then, releasing 'Blood Stained Revolution' in November 2014.
They put on an awesome show. And they are very down to earth. My son actually got snatched up by the owner of the theatre or one of his friends and he got to watch the entire show from side stage. This was his very first concert and it was his 14th birthday. I have never seen him so excited. I thought it was really awesome of them to stay afterwards too. They told everyone that they liked our energy so much that they were not leaving till they got a chance to meet everyone that wanted to meet them. And they did. They talked to a line of people from the entire concert and signed autographs for free and took pictures with every single person and said that they would be posted on their Facebook. Can't wait to see them. They even signed my kids stinky shoes. This band is AWESOME. They said that they will be coming back to Grants Pass Or again and I will definitely be there. Also Nelisium was just as amazing. I see them going places. I would buy any CD they put out. For only being 3 of them the energy they gave off was AMAZING. And they brought Safety Dance back to life. Loved the whole experience. Would watch them again and again.
