He has been producing house music since the 90's but American producer Marc Kinchen has only become a household name in the last year or so. His resurfacing to the chart came after his remix of Storm Queen's 'Look Right Through' which topped the charts earlier this year and dominated radio and club playlists. Aside from that he is widely known as the king of the remix, having reworked tracks by everyone from Haim to Rudimental to Duke Dumont, all of which are regular fixtures in his crowd-pleasing sets. Up until Everywhere festival earlier this year in May, I had missed MK on three separate occasions (being so drunk that I passed out on the tram tracks being the most, or i guess least memorable time). But finally after getting to see him my expectations were more than exceeded, supplying my favourite set of the event. Playing everything I wanted to hear Including my first year of university soundtrack 'My Head Is A Jungle'. Since then, I've seen him play to a rammed dome shaped tent at Parklife festival and the beautiful picturesque Croatian Zrce beach Island of Pag setting of Hideout festival. It was the latter at which I was lucky enough to be on stage with MK with my friends and his entourage and what a moment it was. At one point 12 cases of champagne were bought out on stage for MK's pals to go crazy with, and spray over the crowd, who were more than happy to receive the cooling down. MK is, in my opinion, the biggest house name around! Go see why for yourself!
