The Pietasters is the brainchild band of friends Stephen Jackson and Chris Watt. Soon after they started to make music together, the band started to grow in number and eventually the result was a Washington DC ska/ rocksteady/ punk rock band. There have been a few changes over the years, but the current lineup seems to include Stephen Jackson on vocals, Toby Hansen on guitar and trumpet, Jason Budman on drums, Alan Makranczy on saxophone, Jeremy Roberts on trombone, Carlos Linares on trumpet, Dave Vermillion on bass and Dan Schneider on keyboards.
If you’ve ever been to any ska band live show, then you will not be disappointed with the quality of sound that The Pietasters make sure to give their fans. They deliver a high energy, dance your pants off type show that you want every Ska band to have, but at the same time they do not sound like any other ska band out there. They have their own sound, and the way that they play with each other really feeds into the flow of the sound. You can just tell that they love doing what they love to do, with people that they enjoy jamming with; in fact, they are debatably having more fun than the audience members are.
