Snakehips formed in 2010 playing a number of London shows and introducing their music by uploading tracks to MySpace. By 2011 with a host more shows, tracks, beats and exposure, the project began earning a series of features from the likes of i-D Magazine, culminating in his debut EP release “Hoffman West” in November 2011. Borrowing from East Coast hip-hop with the modern glitch-pop movement, the record is both pioneering and an ode to yester year. Snakehips subsequently continued to released waves of beats and samples, before embarking on a world tour including dates in Paris, Warsaw, Vienna, and Antwerp.
Following which, Snakehips produced a well-received remix of the Weeknd’s “Wanderlust”, paving the way for future remixes including Banks’ “Warm Water” and “Wild Belle’s “It’s Too Late”. By this point the project had augmented international recognition aided by the popular single “Days With You” featuring Sinead Harnett. The single subsequently earned a remix EP entitled “Days With You Remixes” featuring remixes by Sweater Beats, Porno, and Fwdslxsh. In collaboration with Tory Lanez, Snakehips issued the track “Dímelo”, followed by the single “Forever (Pt. II) featuring dance-music darling Kaleem Taylor. Taken from the EP of the same name, the record cemented Snakehips position as a respected electronic act, and has led to opening slots for Chance the Rapper and extensive North American touring.
