The Mike Kearney Ka-tet invites you to celebrate the launch of their new album, Philosophika. Recorded in December 2010 at The Depot Studios with Garry Boyle, the band’s second album captures the high-octane performance delivered at each gig.
For this special occasion Mike and the boys will be forsaking the security of their home, The Jazz Bar and bringing their show to The Bongo Club. Here they will be debuting their 11 piece “funk-tastic” extravaganza, complete with brand new backing singers ‘The Tet-ettes’, and augmented Brass and Percussion sections.
Joining them on the night are special guests and arguably the most uniquely exceptional singer-songwriters in town, Donna Maciocia and Rossco Galloway. For these exclusive collaborations, the Ka-tet will back them as they bust out some of their favourite original gems. We’ll also have the hugely popular Horndog Brass Band up on stage for some Drum n’ Brass action, and to top it all off, the ninja skills of DJ Nem behind the decks.
This an exclusive home town show in anticipation of the worldwide release of Philosophika on the 4th of July. So this will be the one chance to purchase your copy before the masses get their hands on it...
Tickets are only £5, and for one night only the album will be on special offer at only £5 too. A bargain, and our way of thanking our loyal fans.
