Definitely worth checking them out live if you haven't!
Before Psychostick even play one single note, they give a sombrero to a poor helpless audience member who volunteered himself for the sombrero song. Rob “Rawrb!” Kersey, on the lead vocals encourages the entire congregation to spread out and give this guy some space, leaving him in the middle of the pit. He then counts to our and the audience have to grab the sombrero. The place erupts into a huge circle pit of rowdy drunk people, which I’m pretty sure is exactly what they ordered. Apart from that, their music is quite tight, if a little dated but nonetheless it is fun and they put on a fun show whichever city they visit. They perform some of their biggest music to date such as “Because Boobs” which inspires a few exhibitionists in the audience when they play, before finishing on “BEER!!!” where beer literally flies around this room covering the audience. I wouldn’t have been surprised if they ordered in a beer house but apparently that wasn’t in the budget.
I was really happy to see these guys on their first tour. The stage props and costumes were really well done. Above all, the musical arrangement was amazing, and the setlist was totally rad. They made the 8-year-old star wars fanatic child and 22-year-old metalhead in me party at the same time. 10/10 will see them the next time I can.
