The Dutch producer and DJ, Don Diablo, has been wowing audiences with his eclectic style of blending together diverse music and making it his own style. His live shows are sure to pack a punch and are always full of high energy. Perhaps the biggest draw of Don Diablo’s music comes from his vast range of musical knowledge. He mixes songs together that are polar opposite genres from one another and makes them blend together in the most interesting and coherent way. At one of his concerts he began playing Claude Debussy’s famous “Clair de lune” as an introduction to his concert that lead into a wild electronic rendition of Oasis’ song “Wonderwall”. Most of the songs that he remixes are heavily in the style of the Drum and Bass genre, but he often incorporates elements of electronica, hip-hop, funk, and dub into his music. Don Diablo often tours with a vocalist who will sing and rap over his remixes. The aesthetics of Don Diablo’s set design are perhaps just as epic as his music. He is surrounded by mounds of speakers that blast his remixes. There are atmospheric tubular lights that illuminate the stage and there our signs surrounding the stage that light up with Don Diablo’s name. During the more energetic parts of the concert there are bright colorful lights flashing all over the place while Don is getting into the groove of things remixing his beats behind the turntable. The audience never seems to let back and are always dancing to the strong pulses of the music. Don Diablo is a sensation in whatever setting he plays. He gets the whole crowd dancing at large festivals as well as small intimate clubs like the “Passion” club in London. If loud electronic music and stellar remixes is your kind of music, then one of Don Diablo’s performances will be sure to get you moving on your feet.
