Toronto isn’t exactly the first place you’d think of when you’re talking about country and western music but it might be those unusual origins that help The Sadies put a unique flavour into their alternative country music. With their modern twist on classic country sounds The Sadies make for an intriguing live spectacle and pull off their sets with a bit of flair.
All dressed in old school western garb, the band look like a product of a different era helping to evoke all kinds of western imagery from their sound. On a hot summers day these guys look straight out the Wild West. They aren’t some gimmicky history band though – this is a group of highly skilled musicians. Rolling drums and crashing cymbals mesh with the thunderous double bass to form the backbone of their sound. Topped off with rustic guitar work and gritty vocals the band make for a stunning display of musicianship. These guys may be from Canada but as soon as they start playing the crowd knows they’re in for an authentic western experience which is guaranteed to entertain.
