I saw Fobia at the Feria de Puebla back in April of 2014. Fobia is not your typical Mexican rock band. Their voices are softer than others. However, the voices they do have are not feminine. If I had to draw a comparison, they’re kind of like a U2 and Coldplay mashup. They’re really good. One of their songs, La Busqueda stuck out for me. The song literally means “search” and it talks about searching your soul for answers and exploring your surroundings. All the band members were dressed up nicely in business casual and they all sat upright at their stations. The stage décor was rustic in nature and made them look more homely. The lead singer and guitarist happened to wear a coat jacket too. The crowd kept cheering them on. You could hear the screams of girls ever other second. The song caused me to search my own soul and wonder about the future. Fobia have many songs with a deep meaning. Another great song they performed that night was Veneno Vil which means “vile poison” and spoke of the vileness sometimes relationships have. Overall I’d say it was worth going to their concert and I definitely want to go to another one in the future.
