Veronica Falls

I was lucky enough to get to see Veronica Falls, the English indie pop band from London, perform live at the intimate venue of Amoeba.

Their music was immediate, fast, dark, and enchanting. It had a cadence of chanting ritual to it that made everyone both uncomfortable and curious at the same time. Eventually it formed into a more traditional rock song like The Heartbreakers or other similar female-led rock bands.

It was a great intimate performance for a small crowd of fans who enjoyed the music and the performance very much. The singer and the rest of the band head banged and rocked out to the music as the crowd watched intently, like watching animals in tthe zoo. It wasn't a bad thing, it was just unique, everyone just wanted to watch them rock out and enjoy their music, while standing back and enjoying it silently themselves. It was a unique experience for that alone.

At the end of the set everyone applauded and showed their appreciation. It was a truly great band that put on a truly great show. I recommend seeing Veronica Falls to anyone who is interested in rock or more pop oriented punk style music. You won't regret it.
