Colin Meloy

This is folk rock singer known for his singing in the band Decemberists. The singer is seen to be using harmonicas and guitars in his act. This vocalist has strong voice and great control that can tell a story and visualize with just the sound of his voice.

It's a very emotional and strong sound he produce, the live performance song that I viewed was a song called "Down by the River" and it was very somber yet powerful song. His songs are, like a said are story-like as another live performance was a 3 part song that went on for about 16 minutes. The live performance is strong yet fun, but not too energetic.

The attire of Colin Meloy is casual, shirt and jeans. He seems to play in small venues, large venues, and at music festivals. He has experience everywhere though because he's been band performances too. Folk rock isn't my cup of tea, but I can see why people go to see him live, it's strong, easy to listen and you sing along as the lyrics aren't very complicated. He performs several songs from his albums, but his albums are basically eps compared to his work with his band, so his selection can appear limited. Regardless, he provides great entertainment, a wonderful evening, and I would advise a trip to see him perform.
