First I'd like to preface this by saying Hoops is definitely one of my favorite bands right now so I'm somewhat biased.
I drove from Denver to Houston to visit a close friend and planned my trip around this show. It absolutely blew me away. The mixing was a little bad at the beginning of the show and was also pretty bad for the opener but the show itself was great. They opened with 'Sun's Out' and closed with 'Yeah' for the encore which is the lineup I was hoping for. The balance of new/old songs was great in my opinion since I'm a big fan and know pretty much all of them. I also got to speak to the band a little bit before and after the show and got to thank them for coming to town.
As far as the venue goes, White Oak Music hall is absolutely gorgeous. Parking was easy to find/pay for and we had access to the roof as a smoking area with a beautiful view of downtown Houston. It's definitely the best small venue I've been to and much better than most venues in Denver(except Red Rocks of course). My only complaint is that it wasn't as close to the city as the venue's I've been to in Denver.
Overall I'd recommend White Oak Music Hall and I'd definitely recommend seeing Hoops. Even my friend who hadn't listened to them much beforehand left the show and was impressed. There wasn't a wide variety of merch but hopefully they'll have more the next time they come to Denver.
TL;DR Show was amazing. Venue was beautiful. 10/10 would definitely recommend.
