Finally seeing a band perform live that I’ve been following for so long was a somewhat surreal experience. I was worried that they weren’t going to live up to my expectations, and although they’ve been playing for over 40 years, their live show was incredible enjoyable and highly energised, and if I’m honest sounded even better than the recordings! They opened with my favourite track, Homicide, and had everyone singing and dancing along right away. On the chorus, Nick Cash held out his microphone to everyone in the audience, and got us to sing along with him, which was awesome.
Their pre punk music is extremely catchy, and as well as incredible music, they’re wonderful performers. Although the band have seen their youth pass them by, their spirits remain young and they’re incredibly fit, dancing non stop throughout the set. Their huge collection of albums called for careful consideration when they were picking a set list, but they chose a great selection of tracks from across the years, and they seemed to please everyone in the auditorium. It really was a great show, and they definitely still have what it takes to keep recording and touring.
