Scott Albert, a.k.a., Celldweller, has the knack to wow audiences with his unique mixtures of highly elaborate electronic music and organically produced metal music that is appropriately layered over the electronic soundscapes.
When you enter a Celldweller performance you feel like you are entering into a different world. Futuristic looking lights (as would be expected to be seen in the movie Tron) line the stage and wrap around parts of the drums and keyboard stands giving the stage a sleek, futuristic vibe. Strange, futuristic videos are projected on a screen in the back, which are incorporated with the music, and bright beams of light flash back and forth amongst the stage.
Celldweller has a very proficient backing band and their appearance seems to be uniform with Scott Albert’s fashion style. They all are dressed in black wearing gothic attire, as well as having black eyeliner and dyed hair. Scott Albert’s visual appearance stands out the most as he is the leading member of the band. His hair is shaved on both sides and the top of his head is fashioned in the style of a dyed red mohawk with long bangs swooping in his face.
Celldweller has a very dynamic sound to their music. They often start their music playing soft, atmospheric electronic sounds that build up to a large soundscape. After they have produced a large sonic soundscape they come in with heavy distorted guitars playing loud metal rhythms. The synthesizers then switch over to a more abrasive effect playing distorted leads and a drum ‘n’ bass rhythm starts to erupt at which point the whole audience has turned the venue into a rave.
Going to a Celldweller show is an interesting experience that is filled with partying, heavy metal breakdowns, and lush, atmospheric soundscapes that will make you feel like you are in a future age.
