Gary Wright is one of those horrifically underrated singer songwriters who has really done something special with music. This veteran was one of the pioneers of music fusing a synthesizer disco feel with a rock sound in great fashion. Tonight as this festival he demonstrates that with his five-piece band backing him, as he launches into his track “Love Is Alive”. This guy has been giving the world his music for almost five decades now, and still gives it 110% when he performs live. “Dream Weaver” is the bluesy driven smash hit that everyone in this audience knows like the back of their hands and it would be rude not to sing along! I’m literally singing the chorus as I type; it is that good and it is performed so well with so much prowess and conviction. This audience join in without a care in the world with this tenors fantastically powerful voice.
I was one of the many I think that actually came to see Al Stewart,he a true musician. They both are getting on with age but aren't we all? This was the first time I have seen Garry in concert. He still has some decent range in his voice, but lacks the recognizeball material that Stewart has other than his 2 successful hits Overall the night was topped off when they had a meet and greet after the show. That was great. Two thumbs up.
