I have a career of personal musical enjoyment spanning a few decades now and every once in a while someone will come along and totally shine in an era of sameness and Shura ticks that box. She merges an eclectic 80s sound with her gentle vocals; overlayed with powerful beats and a guitar or two adding to the sound track. This resonates the journey of her own influences, which coincide with many of my own. Listening to the tracks performed in the Oobleck, a gorgeous throw back venue, I felt transported to my youth, but minus the awkwardness. An impressive live performer in her own right, but paired with a an engaging politeness and courtesy to her audience which is often lacking from other emerging artists. You have to have this element in your tool box in order to go far. This kid 'Shura' will. An album release is around the corner and if we are treated to more of what we've already had the pleasure of, I'm absolutely certain this awesome artist will be out of this world.
It has been a month and I am still excited when I recall that night watching Shura's live! It was in a small bar named Baby's All Right in Brooklyn and the room is small, so the audience below can stand really close to the artist. And I was lucky to stand in the front line, I got the chance to see Shura right in front of me performing. (Gosh!) Shura is absolutely amazing; she is cool and full of artistry. She added laughing and yelling sounds into the song and made the whole performance more exciting! All in all, I can't wait for her new album to be released! Love you Shura<3
Fellow attendee said at the bar I wouldn't peg you as a Shura fan. Apparently, Shura's musical attraction is universal. The live experience is unparalleled. Thank you for a memorable musical experience.
Wow! What a great performance! Thanks for playing at the intimate Horseshoe when you could've probably have sold out a much much much larger venue! Can't wait to see her again! Class Act!!
