Chicago’s new home for straight-ahead, classic, live jazz, 7 nights a week — with an emphasis on singers.
While straight-ahead jazz is our primary focus, we also love and will happily present trad-jazz, gypsyjazz,swing, big band, New Orleans-style, and other cousins of the genre. We’re glad Chicago is rich in other venues that promote more progressive styles of jazz, so we’ll leave that to them.
Our mission is simple:
To perpetuate the joy of live jazz by presenting the best interpretations of the best arrangements of the best songs in the canon of classic jazz (and Slightly beyond).
Above all, Winter’s strives to be a listening room.
Our intimate club seats 125 in the listening room and 24 in the bar area.
Overlooking the water our outdoor patio seats 18 however no music is allowed outside. As a tavern we serve no food. Instead we pride ourselves on offering an expertly curated selection of beverages and specialty cocktails accompanied by top-notch service. We aim to pour and serve a proper drink ... properly.
