Webster Hall is a 2500 capacity music venue located at 125 East 11th Street, New York City. The venue is easily accessible by bus or subway. The building was built in 1886 and soon became a popular social club. The venue acted as a speakeasy during the prohibition era, with authorities turning a blind eye to what was happening at the club. During the 50s the venue hosted folk legends Woody Guthrie and Pete Seeger, as well as now infamous acts such as Elvis Presley and Frank Sinatra. The venue has continued to host top quality acts through the decades. In 2008 it was agreed by the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission that Webster Hall should be listed as a Landmark. A new room was opened, The Studio at Webster Hall, a 300 capacity space for more intimate shows.
