Union Chapel is a beautiful, medium-sized church in Islington, North London. For un-amplified and folk acts the acoustics are top quality, with sound reverberating brilliantly around the large main area. The venue plays host to a wide variety of artists, from world wide renowned acts such as Bjork and Patti Smith, to lesser known and upcoming musicians. The now Grade II listed church was built between 1874 and 1877 in Gothic Victorian style. The church started life as a music venue in 1991 and has since won 'Venue Of The Year' awards, in recognition of its intimate and unique atmosphere.
